Chairman statement

We look forward to welcoming you to our ONLINE 4th SEHA Vascular conference.  Building on our previous conferences that focussed on raising awareness and "getting it right first time", we would like to introduce this years' theme: "Prevention is better than cure".   We have all seen major changes to our lives in 2020 as a result of this ongoing pandemic and it has effected the healthcare systems in a major way.  Our conference was postponed from March 2020 as a result of the pandemic but we are delighted to be able to offer you this online educational  experience.

Vascular disease is a progressive chronic illness whose onset is often difficult to detect.  Whilst risk factors can usually point to its possible presence, more often it is only detected when it manifests with a complication.  There are several ways we can prevent or delay its onset and there are many options available to slow its progression.  However, when complications of the disease occurs then there are fewer options available and the risks are much higher.
